FISH KILL
There are a large number of dead fish, mostly panfish (Sunfish, Crappie, and Bluegill) floating in the lake. We've received several inquiries from homeowners on the lake about this. We've contacted the MN DNR, and they said this is typical after the type of winter snow coverage this last winter.

See this article on the DNR website that summarizes what they told us.

If you want to report the amount or type of fish to the DNR fisheries office (per the DNR article), we recommend that you coordinate with your neighbors to provide this information. You can send information to metroeast.fisheries@state.mn.us

This fish kill is unfortunate and messy. If you want to clean up your shoreline, netting and burying the dead fish is your best bet.
