NO-WAKE ZONE, TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON LAKE JOHANNA

Recent rainfall has raised the elevation of Lake Johanna above the 879.4 level that triggers DNR/City imposition of an emergency no-wake zone.  Boat speeds on the lake can not exceed 5 MPH until the emergency is lifted.  The restriction is intended to prevent shoreline erosion, damage to docks, and boat hazards due to floating and submerged debris.

The DNR has requested that the emergency remain in effect until the lake level stays below the 879.4 level for three consecutive days.  Although the weather is expected to improve by the weekend, it is likely that the no-wake speed restriction will remain in place until early next week.

The City has placed warning signs at the public boat launch.  If you see boaters exceeding the 5 MPH speed limit, contact the Ramsey County Sheriff's office (651-767-0640 or 651-484-3366).
